Jim Stengel

My name is Jim Stengel. I came to Casper in January, 1980, after graduating from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. I went to work in the booming oil industry as an Administrative Analyst for Amoco Production Company. Like many others, I lost my job when the oil bust hit in January, 1984. Looking for another career, I wanted a job in which I could help people. That opportunity came when I went to work for Allstate Insurance in June, 1984.

It was a good fit for me. I was able to take the complexities of insurance and explain it to people in ways they could understand. I love it when I see the "light come on" in my clients eyes, finally understanding something no other agent ever spent the time to explain to them. Even though I was helping people, we were still only able to insure a fraction of the people we quoted. Being able to only sell policies with just one company was very limiting, so in 2000, Caryn and I decided to broaden our horizons and start an independent agency where we could sell with many different companies. It's very satisfying knowing that we can now help almost everybody with better coverage's and better prices. I have never had a problem looking myself in the mirror as I always have my clients best interests at heart.

I have been married to my soul mate, Julie since 1982. We have 2 son's, Anthony and Michael; one daughter-in-law, Heather; two grandson's, Dexter and Liam; and one granddaughter, Cassidy. I am blessed that they all live here in Casper.

My original aspiration was to become an airline pilot, as I love aviation. I got my private pilot's license when I was 17 and took advanced flight training at the University of North Dakota. I haven't flown for a number of years, but will fly again whenever circumstances permit. I am a musician and play synthesizer, sing and play a unique instrument called a "wind machine". It's basically a synthesizer saxophone. I have been a part of some talented groups in my time but currently am not playing with any group. I love to spend time at our cabin on Casper Mountain, as I love nature and all God's creation. Being surrounded by the deer, squirrels, and hummingbirds in the midst of tall Evergreens and Aspen's is my sanctuary.
